A Senior Project Manager by profession, Heather has been consulting to the Legal Department of a large multi-national as a Business Programme Manager on a Contract Management Solution programme for the past 2 years. Her job description includes managing all aspects of a corporate-wide programme including the change management component. Prior to that, she consulted as a Portfolio Business Analyst to the same company facilitating and quality assuring Business Cases submitted for investment approval. Her career has seen a growth path from Business and Systems Analyst to Project Lead and Senior Project Manager roles. Her presentation describes the journey towards realizing benefits using the Business Case as the primary document of record for the large programme which spans all divisions of a major multi-national in sub-Saharan Africa including the Indian Ocean Islands. This journey focuses on the Business Case as a control document throughout the life-cycle and clarifies the changes brought about by the programme which must be embedded and owned throughout the organisation.She is an IT professional with considerable experience in Portfolio, Project Office and Project Management as well as Business Analysis and Application Support Management. She has considerable experience in change management, having managed such a group within the organisation and also having taken responsibility for the inclusion of activities within projects which facilitated business ownership of the changes. Academic achievements include a BA (Honours) in English Literature and a B Sc in Computer Science . She is also a certified PMP (Project Management Professional). Courses attended include ASAP Methodology and MSP (Managing Successful Programmes) Foundation and Practitioner.
