George Lowden, PMP, PgMP

George Lowden, PMP, PgMP, is a senior vice president of ICF and directs the firm's PMO. He is recognized for his expertise in project management, having been named earlier as one of the "Power 50" leaders of project management in the U.S. by PMI. During his 35 years with ICF, at the consulting firm's headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia, Mr. Lowden has gained practical, first-hand experience in all aspects of managing projects and programs in a number of industries and for many different clients. In his current role, he provides best practices and hands-on assistance to colleagues in managing large and high-stakes projects, as well as developing and implementing company-wide practices for project management.
Mr. Lowden also serves as a technical expert on the U.S. Technical Advisory Group in the development of international standards related to project management, including contributing to the creation of the first such standard: ISO 21500, Guidance on Project Management, 2012. He holds an MBA degree from Harvard University and a BA degree in economics from Stanford University. Mr. Lowden grew up in southern California and currently lives in Arlington, Virginia.
