If a project is too complex to understand up front, how do we plan for its delivery? The answer is to view the project as a changing collection of complex problems, and the delivery team as a complex, problem-solving organisation. Practical steps are explored for project leaders to set up projects as learning teams and to recognise and resolve the typical learning impediments that lead complex projects to failure.
At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to: (1) set up, enable, and lead problem-solving teams that are able to successfully deliver complex projects; (2) describe the social factors that influence collaboration and decision-making effectiveness in delivery teams.
